![]() ![]() Supporting the informal sector to champion SMEs expansion Innovative finance for sustainable development in Africa The Africa Center at the Atlantic Council is seeking self-motivated and experienced individuals with proven writing, editing, research, and organizational skills to serve as Research Assistants to our Fellows working on the New Africa Business Strategy project that will generate thought leadership and research around: Applicants should have English language proficiency.The Africa Center at the Atlantic Council in collaboration with the Harvard Center for African Studies is pleased to invite current graduate students to apply for a Research Assistant position.Both mentors are required to submit letters of recommendation during the application process.Applicants must identify a Harvard faculty mentor to support research and scholarly work additionally, they should identify a second mentor at their home institution.Applicants who have not yet formally received their degree must present evidence of having completed the academic requirements before commencing the Fellowship.Applicants must have received a PhD or equivalent doctoral-level research degree (preference will be given to those who completed PhD in past five years) in any discipline with strategic interest to the African continent and must hold a paid academic appointment at one of the eligible institutions.South Africa | University of Johannesburg. ![]() South Africa | University of the Witwatersrand. ![]() Sierra Leone | University of Sierra Leone. ![]() PhD holders who currently hold a paid academic appointment, which will be active through the duration of the fellowship period, with any of the following institutions are eligible to apply.
